New Incentives For Tourism & Travel Stakeholders By Rwanda Development Board

 


A fresh notice of incentives for tourism and Rwanda stakeholders has been published by the Rwandan Development Board. These are the new directives for organizing and reserving Rwandan Safaris in the 1000-country country for gorillas and other wildlife activities. The new note disrupts the cheap deals the Rwanda Development Board gives all tourists to stimulate more Rwandan safaris from the corona virus pandemic, which has affected the tourism sector in Rwanda so hard.

For over five months all national parks were closed by the Rwandan Council of Development in March 2020. Gorilla Trek Africa, Rwanda's Number One gorilla safari, will provide you the new guide to the discovery of the land of a thousand hills on your next trip.

Notice on New Incentives for Tourism & Travel Stakeholders

In a view to mitigate the impact of the covid-19 pandemic, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has reviewed the current tourism incentives and booking regulation to support the tourism industry recovery. The following new incentives shall be applicable with immediate effect:

1.     Tourists who wish to postpone any type of tourist permit(low season permit, exclusive package permit, MICE incentive permit) due to Covid- 19 related reasons, can postpone their bookings at no extra cost ( subject to submission of official documentation) until December 31st 2022. Such permit modifications can only be allowed twice within the mentioned period and the reschedule will be subject to permit availability. Any exception to do this will still be handled case by case.

2.     The existing 30-day full payment requirement (for tour operators) prior to the client’s visit date remains into force for bookings not affected by Covid- 19. For those bookings reschedule due to Covid-19, this 30 day full payment requirement will apply and only be calculated based on the new visiting date.

3.     Tour operators whose clients have cancelled will be offered future permit credit that may be used by other clients.

4.     Bookings of permits shall be confirmed subjected to availability.

5.     Tourist’s names can only be changed twice up to one day before the visiting date.

6.     A Covid- 19 related matter is the only acceptable reason for free reschedule. Other unforeseen circumstances will still be handled on a case by case basis.

Extension of existing promotional rates up to December 31st, 2022

·         For Africa foreign residents, a promotional rate of $500 will be applied for mountain gorilla trekking up to 31st December 2022.
